Planning a wedding
A cantor, an accompanist, a small ensemble or a full choir for your wedding Mass or Liturgy of the Word. We’ll help you work out what your parish needs and what suits your day, and we’ll look after the details with your parish.
Arranging a funeral
A cantor, or a cantor with an accompanist, for a Funeral Mass or wake service. Message us and we’ll tell you quickly whether we can be there. There is never an extra charge for short notice.

Looking for a singer for a hotel wedding, solemnisation or dinner reception? This isn't that kind of service. We provide music for Catholic liturgy.
What we provide
We sing in five arrangements, from one musician leading the congregation to a choir of twenty. Every one of them will lead your guests well and serve the liturgy properly. The difference is in the sound, the size of the celebration and how much notice you have.

What you can count on
Planning music for a wedding or a funeral can feel daunting, especially if you’ve never done it before. Here is what we take care of, so you don’t have to.
- Guidance on the music. We’ll suggest music for each moment of the liturgy, explain why it fits, and learn any hymn that matters to you.
- Liaison with your parish. We work with your parish music coordinator on the music list, rehearsal times and any requirements, so everyone is on the same page.
- Proper preparation. Every booking gets its own rehearsal. Nothing is sung on the day that hasn’t been prepared for your celebration.
- Arriving early. We’re in the church ahead of time for a sound check and a word with the priest about cues, so the music is settled before you arrive.
- Clear answers. You’ll hear back within three days, you’ll know the contribution before you commit, and if we can’t do your date, we’ll say so quickly.
Weddings
Music is part of the prayer of a Catholic wedding, from the entrance and the Responsorial Psalm to communion, the signing of the register and the recessional. Most parishes allow couples to bring their own musicians, and we’ll help you plan every sung moment with your parish.
If one of you isn’t Catholic, your wedding may be a Liturgy of the Word rather than a Mass, with simpler music. Our mixed-marriage music guide explains what that means and what to ask your priest.
We ask for one month’s notice for a cantor, two for an ensemble and three for a full choir. The best time to ask is as soon as your date and parish are confirmed.
Funerals
When someone dies, there is a great deal to arrange in very little time. We’ll make the music one less thing to worry about. Message us with the date, time and venue, and we’ll check straight away and tell you quickly either way. We can sing at the Funeral Mass and at the wake, whether at a funeral parlour, a Catholic wake chapel, a void deck or at home.
Why there is a contribution
Music at a wedding or Funeral Mass involves much more than the hour of the liturgy: rehearsal for the occasion, preparing and learning the repertoire, buying legal copies of scores, transport, and arriving early for the sound check. The contribution covers that work, and we publish it openly for each arrangement, so you can plan with a clear number and know there is nothing extra at the end. If the contribution is a difficulty, please write to us, and we’ll work something out.
How booking works
- Send an enquiry Tell us the occasion, the date and time, and the parish. We usually reply within three days.
- We check availability We confirm whether we have the singers and musicians for your date, and tell you plainly either way.
- We plan the liturgy together Which parts are sung, the hymns you’d like, your parish’s requirements, and when we’ll rehearse.
- We confirm the arrangement The group, the music list and the contribution are agreed, and we begin preparing.
About the musicians
Cantico is a group of Catholic church musicians in Singapore providing sacred music for weddings and Funeral Masses, from a solo cantor to a full choir. It was founded by Mark, a church choir member and catechist, and draws on singers and musicians who sing regularly in parish liturgy. Our singers and musicians serve alongside full-time work. That’s why our dates are limited and why we schedule rehearsals well ahead.

What sacred music is for
Music that serves the liturgy.
We believe music should serve the liturgy, not compete with it. At a wedding or a funeral, that means music that helps the whole church pray, rather than a performance for it to watch. When it’s done well, people don’t leave talking about the singers. They leave having prayed.
